[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Lee Seung-yul, the governor of Cheongdo County, Gyeongbuk, passed away around 7 a.m. on the 2nd at his home due to a pancreatic-related illness.
The governor had recently been receiving treatment at a hospital in Seoul due to his illness but was unable to recover and passed away at his home on the day.
He began his political career after being elected as a member of the Cheongdo Agricultural Cooperative and then elected as a Cheongdo County council member in 2006.
