Kim In-chang Appointed as the 8th Chief of Jeju Regional Maritime Police Agency
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Kim Inchang, the 8th Chief of Jeju Regional Maritime Police Agency, was inaugurated on the 27th.
New Chief Kim Inchang first inspected the maritime security situation at the comprehensive situation room, and instead of a traditional inauguration ceremony due to COVID-19, held a video conference to greet the affiliated maritime police station chiefs and introduce himself. After exchanging greetings with the staff, he proceeded with the official schedule.
Kim, who joined the maritime police in 1994 as the 42nd class of officer candidates, is a native of Jeju and graduated from Mokpo National Maritime University with a major in Navigation, Dongguk University with a degree in Law, and Yonsei University Graduate School of Public Administration.
He is a maritime expert who has held key positions such as Chief of Jeju Maritime Police Station, Director of Search and Rescue Division at the Korea Coast Guard, and Maritime Police Policy Officer at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
Chief Kim Inchang said, “I ask all employees to prioritize ‘public safety’ as their core belief and to act proactively,” adding, “We will build a brave, just, and warm organizational culture.”
