Gyeonggi-do Conducts Special Inspections on Quarantine Rules in Tourism Sectors Including Hotels and Theme Parks During Year-End and New Year Period
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will conduct a special inspection until January 2nd of next year to check compliance with quarantine rules at tourist accommodations and amusement facilities expected to see a sharp increase in visitors during Christmas and the year-end and New Year holidays.
The special inspection was planned in response to the recent increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases due to the Omicron variant and breakthrough infections.
The main targets of the inspection are tourist hotels, condominiums within ski resorts, and theme parks (comprehensive amusement facilities) where a surge in visitors is anticipated.
The inspection items include ▲ compliance with the rule of no more than four people per room ▲ parties or events hosted by accommodation facilities ▲ events such as fireworks and performances ▲ mask-wearing and adherence to capacity limits.
Since the end of April last year when COVID-19 began, the province has conducted 19 inspections of statutory tourist sites, tourist accommodations, amusement facilities, and campgrounds to check compliance with quarantine rules, preemptively reviewing the COVID-19 response system of tourist facilities and improving any deficiencies.
Next year, the province plans to continue monitoring compliance with quarantine rules, focusing on multi-use tourist facilities expected to have many visitors during holiday seasons and vacation periods.
