Ewideplus is a digital agency engaged in global business. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the company's establishment. CEO Jang Hyuk-jun is currently staying in Canada. Since establishing a corporation in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2011, he is planning overseas business to stand shoulder to shoulder with design companies in the US and Europe. In an online video interview, CEO Jang said, "Exports account for 40% of total sales," adding, "By applying design through data-driven analysis, we are gaining positive responses in the global market."
Ewideplus specializes in planning and producing smartphone applications (apps) while carrying out projects in the financial sector. For example, they renewed the Lotte Members 'L.Pay' channel and built the mobile web for Hana Bank's 'One Dollar Foreign Currency Savings' product, which surpassed 10,000 accounts within a month of launch.
CEO Jang explained, "We consider app design from the user's perspective, not the client's," adding, "We have a panel group of 200 to 400 people perform missions using the app and choose the design that enables completing the mission in the shortest time." They have invested 5.5 billion KRW solely in research and development (R&D), including establishing a data research institute in Suwon. Last year, they received the '1 Million Dollar Export Tower' award on Trade Day.
This year, they celebrated a double success by being recognized as an Excellent Design Specialized Company selected by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion. Since 2008, the Design Promotion Institute has been strengthening the capabilities of design specialized companies through this selection and helping them grow into globally competitive enterprises.
A total of 70 companies applied for this year's Excellent Design Specialized Company program, and 20 were selected. Ewideplus overcame a 4:1 competition ratio in the promising companies category, which requires more than seven years of experience. Being selected as an Excellent Design Specialized Company grants additional points in various government projects and is advantageous for entering overseas markets. CEO Jang said, "Recently, more than 200 applicants applied during the recruitment of four new employees locally in Indonesia," adding, "As a good reputation builds, it also helps in securing talent."
