Gwangjin-gu Supports Transparent Masks for Childcare Teachers at Daycare Centers
A total of 10,108 KF-94 masks provided to 90 daycare centers... An additional 27,626 KF-94 masks supplied to all daycare centers
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is providing transparent masks to daycare teachers to support children's language development.
This transparent mask support was initiated due to concerns about delays in language development among infants and toddlers, as daycare teachers wear masks while conducting classes to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Wearing transparent masks allows children to see the facial expressions and mouth movements of daycare teachers, facilitating smoother communication and helping to develop language skills, sociality, and emotional empathy.
The district will supply a total of 10,108 transparent masks, 14 per person, to 90 daycare centers in the area that wish to receive support.
Additionally, Seoul City will provide 1,434 transparent masks, 2 per infant class teacher.
Furthermore, the district will deliver an additional 27,626 KF-94 masks to all 161 daycare centers in Gwangjin-gu.

Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Even amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, I hope that transparent masks will help children communicate smoothly with teachers and aid in language development and social skills improvement. We will do our best to alleviate the difficulties faced by daycare centers and parents responsible for childcare and to overcome this crisis as soon as possible.”
