Gwangju Seo-gu Conducts Safety Inspections at 21 Sites Including Construction Sites
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Seo-gu District Office of Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 10th that it recently conducted a special safety inspection targeting 21 large construction sites and housing construction projects within the district in preparation for the winter season.
This safety inspection covered ▲winter safety checks at large construction sites ▲management of temporary structures in preparation for heavy snowfall ▲designation of responsible managers for heating and electrical equipment, as well as welding work.
Additionally, the inspection focused on ▲checking the surroundings of construction sites ▲establishment of safety management plans and situation management systems ▲securing emergency snow removal materials and equipment in preparation for winter heavy snowfall to prevent safety accidents in advance.
As a result of the inspection, four minor issues in areas including Chipyeong-dong were immediately corrected on-site, and one case was administratively ordered to be supplemented promptly, with continuous management planned until the risk factors are resolved.
Last month, over two days, Seo-gu also conducted winter safety inspections at nine housing construction sites within the district, including the new construction of the Hillstate residential-commercial complex in Gwangcheon-dong.
The inspection results confirmed ▲the preventive management status against overturning of temporary structures and ground subsidence in preparation for heavy snow and strong winds ▲the securing of emergency snow removal materials and equipment for heavy snowfall, and notified the project implementers of any pointed issues to ensure corrective actions were completed.
A Seo-gu official stated, “We urge all site personnel to thoroughly prepare in advance to prevent any winter safety accidents, so that no casualties or property damage occur,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to create a safe urban environment through ongoing safety inspections.”
