Samsung Electronics Promotes 198 Executives... 'Generational Change' with Many 3040 Executives Appointed
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Samsung Electronics conducted a large-scale executive reshuffle on the 9th. This personnel move, which focused on generational change through meritocracy principles and leadership for sustainable future growth, produced many "young leaders," including executives in their 30s promoted to Senior Manager and those in their 40s promoted to Vice President.
Samsung Electronics announced that it carried out a regular executive reshuffle promoting a total of 198 people, including 68 Vice Presidents, 113 Senior Managers, 1 Fellow, and 16 Masters. Samsung Electronics explained, "In accordance with the principle of meritocracy, we made a significant number of promotions to strengthen leadership for sustainable future growth."
Samsung Electronics emphasized that it boldly selected individuals who demonstrated performance and growth potential regardless of rank or years of service, resulting in the promotion of Senior Managers in their 30s and Vice Presidents in their 40s. In this reshuffle, four Senior Managers in their 30s and ten Vice Presidents in their 40s were promoted. The number of Senior Managers promoted in their 30s ties the record set in 2012 for the highest ever.
Additionally, to innovate the organization by strengthening "diversity and inclusion," Samsung Electronics promoted 12 female executives and 5 foreign executives. Along with this, many personnel from the software sector, a future core growth engine, were also appointed as executives.

Samsung Electronics stated, "Going forward, Vice Presidents will be promoted based on their potential to grow as key executives regardless of age or seniority, and will be assigned to core positions to expand their experience and cultivate managerial qualities as future CEO candidates."
