NongHyup Financial, Hiring New Employees for 'NongHyup Bank Virtual Human'
New Attempts for Digital Communication with MZ Customers
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] NongHyup Financial Group announced on the 25th that NongHyup Bank plans to officially hire an artificial intelligence (AI) bank clerk implemented based on deep learning technology as a regular employee. Although it is still at the prototype stage, it is said to reflect the strong will of NongHyup Financial Group Chairman Byunghwan Son and NongHyup Bank President Junhak Kwon regarding digital transformation.
The AI bank clerk is a virtual bank employee synthesized from the faces of MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) employees currently working at NongHyup Bank, created through long hours of training to naturally synchronize lip movements with the voice. Although it is a digital human developed using AI technology, it will be assigned personnel orders according to the new employee hiring schedule and will be given an employee number like a regular staff member. Starting from January next year, after about three months of training and probation alongside the 22nd batch of new hires, an appointment certificate will also be issued.
This is not just a one-time event; the AI bank clerk will be assigned duties and managed like a regular bank employee. Primarily serving as an in-house promotional model, it will mainly handle communication with customers through social networking services (SNS), but its work scope will gradually expand to include tasks such as reading product brochures to customers at branches in the future.
Additionally, the AI bank clerk will serve as a stepping stone for digital transformation, fostering a culture where employees participate and innovate on their own, while accumulating solutions by identifying legal system issues and operational problems related to AI.
