Naver Unveils Personalized Shopping Curation 'FOR YOU'... Strengthening 'My Own Shopping Space'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Naver announced on the 24th that it has newly established the ‘FOR YOU’ tab, an AI shopping curation space that gathers users’ personal interests and preferences, on Naver Shopping.
The FOR YOU service is based on the AI-based product recommendation technology ‘AiTEMS’ and enhanced with the ultra-large-scale AI ‘HyperCLOVA,’ enabling more refined product recommendations. It analyzes not only users’ shopping history but also their personal preferences and tastes to systematically recommend shopping themes and information that users are genuinely interested in, offering a personalized curation service.
Users can receive real-time recommendations of shopping themes and items that perfectly match their interests and preferences from over 1 billion product databases on Naver Shopping through the FOR YOU shopping feed. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are expected to have more opportunities for their products to be exposed.
As of last month, 45% of Naver Shopping users clicked on products recommended by AiTEMS for shopping exploration, and sales through personalized product recommendations have more than doubled compared to the same period last year, demonstrating an increasing matching effect between SMEs and users, according to Naver.
FOR YOU features the addition of ‘shopping feed generation automation’ technology, updating 500,000 shopping feeds daily to assist diverse shopping explorations, and applies a personalized recommendation engine that reflects users’ search intent and interests in real time.
In addition to recommendations based on users’ shopping history such as purchases, wish lists, and cart additions provided by AiTEMS, the service analyzes users’ recently searched stores or product keywords to recommend related products and tags through real-time blocks or the currently viewed product area. Furthermore, it expands the curation scope by recommending new ‘shopping themes’ based on frequently viewed products.
Moreover, by analyzing various product metadata such as review-based recommendations and DISCOVER TREND along with Naver Shopping data, the personalized recommendation area has been advanced to help users discover new shopping trends they were previously unaware of.
