[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC), the main government agency in charge of anti-corruption, announced on the 18th that it will present South Korea's digital anti-corruption public reporting system, the 'Integrity Portal,' as a best practice at a meeting hosted by international organizations.
The ACRC stated that it plans to present the Integrity Portal as a best practice in a special session of a high-level meeting jointly hosted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) on the theme of "Transparency, Integrity, and Participation in the Digital Age." Kim Gi-seon, Director of the ACRC's Inspection Protection Bureau, will give a presentation titled "Utilizing Digital Technology for Corruption Prevention and Control in Korea: Operation of the Integrity Portal," and will discuss cooperation plans including technical support for Latin American member countries together with the IDB.
The meeting is being held via video conference over three days from the 15th to the 18th in the Dominican Republic. Speakers include Luis Abinader, President of the Dominican Republic; James P. Scriven, President of IDB Invest (scheduled); Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the OECD; Delia Ferreira Rubio, Chair of Transparency International (TI); and 28 other high-level officials such as heads of audit offices from Colombia, Chile, and Peru.

The ACRC is the only invitee from countries outside Latin America, which indicates the high level of interest Latin American countries have in Korea's online public corruption reporting system. The ACRC is currently conducting a preliminary feasibility study to transfer system operation know-how to Colombia and plans to implement an Official Development Assistance (ODA) project starting in 2023. Director Kim said, "We hope this meeting will serve as an opportunity to share Korea's excellent experience in building and operating a digital anti-corruption system with the international community," adding, "The ACRC will strive to assist Latin American countries in establishing their digital corruption prevention systems."
