Operating the 'Seolhwa Cultural Festival' for 14 Years... Leading the Preservation and Globalization of Korean Traditional Culture
Amorepacific wins the Grand Prize (Presidential Citation) at the Korea Mecenat Awards.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Mecenat Association held the Korea Mecenat Awards at the Chosun Hotel on the afternoon of the 17th. Amorepacific, the recipient of the Grand Prize, has been operating the 'Seolhwa Cultural Exhibition' for 14 years. It continuously supports traditional craft experts such as traditional jang (fermented sauces) and dyeing masters, leading efforts to preserve and globalize Korean traditional culture. It also sponsors numerous cultural and artistic institutions and organizations, including the Venice Biennale, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and the Korea National University of Arts.
The Cultural Contribution Award (Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Citation) goes to the KT&G Scholarship Foundation. It was recognized for providing scholarships over six years to young talents in music, dance, traditional arts, and fine arts, offering them opportunities to grow into greater artists. The Creativity Award (President of Mecenat Association Award) is awarded to Hanwha General Insurance. Its dance-based safety education program for children and adolescents, 'Crisis Escape Safety Education,' which has been running for seven years, received high praise.

Lee Wang-jun, chairman of Myongji Medical Foundation, who showed great enthusiasm for supporting artists, receives the Mecenat Award. Since 2011, Chairman Lee has operated the Art Healing Center at Myongji Hospital. He has held 1,630 concerts in the hospital lobby, providing opportunities to enjoy art to about 50,000 patients, families, and medical staff. The Meeting of Business and Arts Award, given to companies and organizations that have demonstrated excellent cultural and artistic partnership activities, is jointly awarded to Samsung SDI and the Heart-Heart Foundation. Their 14 years of support for the artistic education and activities of the orchestra for people with developmental disabilities played a significant role.
