[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonbuk Province announced on the 16th that it will receive a total of 15.5 billion KRW in slaughterhouse operation loans after local slaughterhouses in the province received excellent evaluations from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs for supplying safe livestock products and revitalizing distribution.
According to the province, among the three excellent slaughterhouses evaluated in the province, two slaughterhouses (Nonghyup Mokwoochon, Dodram Gimje FMC, multiple) received an A grade, and one slaughterhouse (multiple) received a B grade.
Accordingly, slaughterhouse operation loans of 6 billion KRW (0% interest rate) will be provided for A grade, and 3.5 billion KRW (0.5% interest rate) for B grade.
The excellent slaughterhouse evaluation support project is a project promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to foster an integrated production-slaughter-distribution management system targeting designated excellent regional slaughterhouses to supply safe and hygienic livestock products.
The evaluation is conducted through document review and on-site inspection in four areas: member farm management, financial stability, management operation, and slaughterhouse hygiene and quarantine management, and operation support funds are provided differentially according to the grade.
So far, Jeonbuk Province has promoted hygiene and HACCP operation inspections and on-site guidance for slaughterhouses in the province in the first and second half of the year to produce hygienic and safe livestock products. As a result, the number of A-grade slaughterhouses increased to two this year, and the amount of support this year has significantly increased by 8.5 billion KRW (121%) compared to last year (7 billion KRW).
