The competition was planned under the theme of the convergence and commercialization ideas of AI technology with Gwangju's 11 strategic industries. Recently, awareness has spread that companies must take the lead in ESG management such as eco-friendliness, social responsibility management, and governance improvement to overcome the economic crisis and achieve sustainable development. At the same time, the necessity to foster future new industries based on AI has emerged.

According to the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this competition was promoted as part of the 2021 Gwangju Job Creation Innovation Project "Support for Promising Companies' Future Core Technology Convergence Package," supported by Gwangju Metropolitan City and the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office. The final stage was conducted through offline presentations and judging, and was broadcast live nationwide on YouTube, with 18 teams participating.

The judging panel, composed of AI experts and executives from new business promotion teams of large corporations, evaluated the teams mainly on business feasibility, implementability, technicality, and conformity to ESG indicators. As a result, six teams were selected: one team each for the Environment Award, Social Award, and Governance Award, and three teams for Excellence Awards.
