Zika Virus Spreads in India... Over 100 Infected Including Pregnant Women

According to India Today on the 10th, 16 new infections were added in Kanpur city, Uttar Pradesh, bringing the total number of Zika virus cases to 105. The Zika virus, transmitted by the Aedes mosquito, is known to cause microcephaly and neurological disorders in newborns. There is no preventive vaccine.
In July this year, over 60 people were infected with the Zika virus in Kerala state in southern India. In August, Zika virus infections were first reported in Maharashtra state in the west. Then, after the first case was reported in Kanpur city on the 23rd of last month, more than 100 confirmed cases have emerged in this city alone.
