Gangjin-gun MTB Club Promotes Gangjin in Jeju Amid With-Corona Era
Organizing a Promotion Team, Conducting Nationwide Promotion Activities by Bicycle at Least Once a Year

According to the county on the 10th, Kim Dong-seop, president of the Gangjin MTB club, and about 30 members held a send-off ceremony with County Governor Lee Seung-ok at the county office square on the 5th, and rode 234 km over 2 nights and 3 days mainly through popular tourist spots along Jeju's fantastic bicycle paths to promote tourism in Gangjin-gun.
Since its establishment in 2008 with the goal of creating a happy and healthy local community together with residents through MTB, the club has been promoting Gangjin-gun's various festivals and historic cultural sites by touring nationwide at least once a year.

View original imageThe club members had suspended activities last year due to COVID-19 but, in line with the government's With Corona policy, they attached Gangjin-gun promotional stickers on their backs and attracted many tourists' attention by riding bicycles throughout Jeju Island to promote Gangjin-gun.
Kim Dong-seop, president of the Gangjin MTB club, said, "Despite the difficult situation caused by COVID-19, I am grateful to the MTB club members who participated to promote Gangjin-gun," adding, "I was moved to see their enthusiastic promotion and completion of the ride despite harsh conditions. During the remaining term, I will continue to promote Gangjin-gun's cultural heritage sites and beautiful tourist resources by bicycle."
Meanwhile, Gangjin-gun holds the nationally best festival, the Celadon Festival, every year, as well as the Gangjin Bay Dancing Reed Festival held in the clean waters of Gangjin Bay. The area is dotted with historic cultural assets such as Dasan Chodang, Yeongnang's birthplace, Baekryeonsa Temple, Muisa Temple, and Baegundong Garden. Recently, many tourists have also been visiting the desirable island Gaudo and Nam Mireuksa Temple in Gundong-myeon.
