Gochang-gun Selected as 'Grade 1' in Comprehensive Food Industry Plan Evaluation...The Only One Nationwide

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk (Governor Yu Gisang) announced on the 10th that it was selected as the only nationwide top grade 1 (Excellent) in the ‘Comprehensive Plan for Food Industry Implementation Evaluation (2020 standard)’ hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

The target of the Comprehensive Plan for Food Industry Implementation Evaluation was 38 cities and counties, and since one place in Jeonnam did not submit data, the implementation performance evaluation was conducted for 37 places.

The county received the highest grade 1 (Excellent) in the implementation evaluation by having a high achievement rate compared to performance goals (83% in the rice sector, 96% in the field crop sector) and appropriately presenting improvement tasks for problems after self-autonomous evaluation.

Gochang-gun is the only city/county nationwide to receive grade 1 (Excellent).

By receiving grade 1 (Excellent), the county will be awarded 5 additional points in the selection evaluation for next year’s high-quality rice distribution activation project and food crop joint management body fostering project, reflecting the incentive criteria, and will receive additional allocation of rice purchase funds to RPC (1.5 billion KRW, 0% interest funds).

Governor Yu Gisang said, “The achievement of the only nationwide top grade is the result of seeking development plans for local agriculture based on the Comprehensive Plan for Food Industry, organizing farms, and establishing a high-quality agricultural product production and distribution system to promote stable farm income improvement,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to secure competitiveness in the food industry and agriculture.”
