US Ambassador: "Exchanging Opinions on Korea-US Ceasefire Declaration Draft... Continuing Creative Efforts"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Jake Sullivan, the White House National Security Advisor, expressed 'differences' between South Korea and the U.S. regarding the declaration of the end of the war, while Lee Soo-hyuk, South Korea's ambassador to the U.S., stated on the 9th (local time) that "South Korea and the U.S. are closely consulting on the issue of the declaration of the end of the war."
At a press briefing held at the Korean Cultural Center in Washington DC on the same day, the ambassador said, "South Korea and the U.S. are exchanging opinions even on the draft of the declaration of the end of the war."
He emphasized, "(South Korea and the U.S.) are continuing active and creative efforts regarding the declaration of the end of the war," and "close consultations are underway on the scope of cooperation and geographical range between South Korea and the U.S."
