Gwangju Seo-gu 'Mampyeonhan Pregnancy One-Stop Service' Gains Popularity
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) has been operating the ‘Mom Comfortable Pregnancy One-Stop Service’ since April, which is receiving positive responses from pregnant women.
According to Seo-gu on the 5th, the one-stop service is a service that allows pregnant women to receive guidance and conveniently apply for various pregnancy support services provided by government agencies and local governments all at once through online and offline channels such as ‘Government24’, eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare centers, and public health centers.
Until now, pregnant women were often unaware of these services and missed out on benefits or had to visit each agency individually to apply, causing inconvenience.
The integrated application pregnancy support services include pregnancy and childbirth medical expense support, maternal and newborn health care, provision of folic acid and iron supplements, medical expense support for teenage pregnant mothers, issuance of mother and child health handbooks, and discounts on Mom Comfortable KTX first-class seats.
Folic acid and iron supplements, as well as the MoaMoa Hope Bundle, can also be applied for via delivery service.
One pregnant woman who applied for this service said, “I didn’t know there were so many policies for pregnant women before, but I learned about them through this one-stop service application,” and added, “I want to actively inform other pregnant women around me about the one-stop service.”
A Seo-gu official stated, “By minimizing visits to agencies through the one-stop service, we reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection for pregnant women, and we will continue to expand and implement various pregnancy-related services to make Seo-gu a great place to have children.”
