High Pathogenic Avian Influenza Confirmed in Wild Birds at Gobucheon, Buan, Jeonbuk
Jeonbuk Province Implements Movement Restrictions and Surveillance on Poultry Farms Within 10km Radius of Quarantine Zones
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonbuk Province announced on the 4th that H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza was confirmed on the 3rd of this month from wild bird droppings in Gobucheon, Buan.
This highly pathogenic avian influenza case is the first occurrence in Jeonbuk during this winter season and the second nationwide following Cheongyo Stream in Cheonan, Chungnam.
Jeonbuk Province will impose movement restrictions, surveillance, and disinfection measures for 21 days from the sample collection date on 65 poultry farms within a 10 km radius (49 chicken farms, 15 duck farms, and 1 quail farm).
Additionally, on-site clinical examinations will be conducted for the 49 chicken farms within the 10 km radius, and laboratory detailed tests will be performed for the 15 duck farms and 1 quail farm.
