Dutch Diplomat's Family Threatens Korean with Vehicle
The family member of a foreign diplomat with diplomatic immunity stationed in Korea is under police investigation for allegedly threatening a Korean national with a vehicle.
On the 3rd, it was reported that A, a family member of the Dutch consul in Korea, is suspected of hitting a Korean man with a vehicle around 1 p.m. on the 1st of this month in an alley near the Hyatt Hotel in Yongsan-gu.
The victim reportedly claimed that A made an insulting gesture with their finger and consistently acted as if "there is no problem because of diplomatic immunity."
The police confirmed A's identity and released them, but after reviewing the black box footage of the incident, it was confirmed that A's vehicle struck the victim. However, the victim's injuries are said to be not serious.
