View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 1st that Na Seong-ung, former Deputy Director of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, has been appointed as the 5th President of the Korea Childcare Promotion Institute.
New President Na Seong-ung, born in 1963, has held key positions at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, including Director of Childcare Policy Division, Director General of Health Policy Bureau, and Deputy Director of the KDCA. In particular, until August of this year, he responded to COVID-19 at the KDCA (Central Disease Control Headquarters), successfully establishing quarantine policies, swiftly responding to emerging infectious diseases, and ensuring the stable inauguration of the KDCA, demonstrating excellent crisis management and organizational leadership skills.
The Korea Childcare Promotion Institute is a childcare-specialized public institution designated as a quasi-governmental organization in January 2019. A Ministry of Health and Welfare official stated, "We expect President Na to lead management innovation at the Korea Childcare Promotion Institute based on his extensive public service experience and outstanding leadership."

This appointment of the new president was conducted through document and interview evaluations by the Korea Childcare Promotion Institute Executive Recommendation Committee in accordance with relevant regulations, followed by the appointment by the Minister of Health and Welfare.
