Kyodo News, citing multiple diplomatic sources, reported that the meeting is being coordinated to take place next week in Washington DC, attended by Noh Kyu-duk, Director General for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs at South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sung Kim, U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Policy at the State Department, and Takehiro Funakoshi, Director of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau at Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The three countries are expected to share concerns over North Korea's recent launches of two short-range ballistic missiles on the 15th of last month and a new hypersonic missile test launch on the 28th, and reaffirm their commitment to denuclearization through diplomacy.
