[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Saerom] The Gyeongnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 14th that it held a workshop for about 100 native English-speaking assistant teachers with low experience.
The workshop was conducted in two sessions, the first and second, each lasting four hours at the Gyeongnam Office of Education Information Center, considering the COVID-19 situation.
This workshop mainly covered topics for native English-speaking assistant teachers with less than six months of placement, including the Korean education system and cultural differences, lesson plan preparation and English camp preparation, and relationships with cooperating teachers.
The native English-speaking assistant teacher program of the Gyeongnam Office of Education is an important project to cultivate students' international competencies, ensuring that qualified native teachers who have passed verification from recruitment to placement can support English education in schools.
