Social worker Kim Youngshin was recognized for her contributions not only to improving the quality of care for terminal patients but also to establishing palliative care projects within the hospital and advancing hospice care in the local community.
In particular, over the past 12 years, she has been responsible for the practical work of establishing the basic framework of the hospice ward at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital, including facilities and personnel, while carrying out the inpatient hospice project. She also organized patient outings and concerts to discover care needs, developed the in-hospital hospice EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and expanded hospice beds.
