'Legal Battle with Older Brother' Park Soo-hong, First Trial on 29th...116 Billion Won Compensation Lawsuit
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] The first trial of comedian Park Su-hong (51), who filed a lawsuit seeking damages worth 11.6 billion KRW against his older brother and his wife, will be held at the end of this month.
According to the legal community on the 11th, the 12th Civil Division of the Seoul Western District Court (Chief Judge Lee Byung-sam) scheduled the first hearing for Park's lawsuit, filed on June 22, for the 29th of this month.
Park previously revealed that his older brother and his wife embezzled appearance fees over 30 years and took legal action. In April, he also filed a complaint with the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office against his older brother and his wife on charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement).
Law firm S, representing Park, initially demanded about 8.6 billion KRW in damages but expanded the claim and increased the amount by approximately 3 billion KRW after additional embezzlement charges involving personal bank accounts surfaced during the investigation.

Park's side claims that although they agreed to distribute profits from the management company established by his older brother in a fixed manner, his older brother failed to comply and privately misappropriated and embezzled the company's funds.
