Jeonbuk Province Focuses on Discovering and Hosting International Events in Preparation for With-Corona Era

At the attraction case sharing meeting, in-depth discussions continued on the 'Jeollabuk-do International Event Attraction Plan' discovered through research projects and expert meetings since the outbreak of COVID-19, presentations on the plan, and discussions on the direction of Jeollabuk-do's international event attraction.

In particular, the meeting announced Jeonbuk Province's international event attraction plan.

Jeonbuk Province plans to focus on attracting large-scale international events that have grounds for support from international organizations or the national government and are related to Jeonbuk Province's major leap forward key projects.

For small and medium-sized international events, various events with significant ripple effects on the local economy, such as the World Korean Business Convention, Korea-Russia Local Cooperation Forum, and International Conference of the International Sustainable Tourism Committee, which were discovered through case sharing meetings and expert discussions, will be reviewed and attraction plans established.

Meanwhile, the meeting concluded that Jeonbuk possesses excellent capabilities and various advantages in hosting large-scale international events, including cases of attracting international events such as APT and Jamboree, natural heritage, agro-biological industry ecosystems, and public institutions in innovation cities, and agreed to unite the efforts of institutions and organizations for the planned international events.
