Visits from local governments nationwide continue as they seek to visually confirm the secret to the successful quarantine measures of the Hamyang Sansam Anti-Aging Expo, which opened the first chapter of the COVID-19 era.
As the largest international event held since the outbreak of COVID-19, these visits aim to learn about the expo’s operational know-how, quarantine preparations, and response plans for confirmed cases.
The hosting of the Hamyang Sansam Anti-Aging Expo is becoming a starting point for finding ways to revitalize local festivals and exhibitions that have suffered due to the impact of COVID-19.
Officials who toured the expo site said, “Through various media outlets and word of mouth, we had the opportunity to see firsthand the safe operation of the Hamyang Sansam Anti-Aging Expo,” and added, “The operational know-how of the expo will be very helpful when our local government holds festivals in the future.”
The expo’s nine exhibition hall zones operate an online advance reservation system through the expo website. The venue is divided into three gates, ten exhibition halls, and eighteen other areas including performance and event spaces, applying strengthened quarantine rules such as entry log management, temperature checks, and capacity limits for simultaneous visitors.
Additionally, detailed quarantine management tasks were specified by field, including operations, events, academic conferences, and exhibition production. Quarantine management booths were set up at each gate, and visitor entry routes were designated to preemptively block factors that could cause infectious disease outbreaks.
Kim Jong-soon, Secretary General of the Expo Organizing Committee, said, “We felt the burden of holding the expo amid the recent rapid spread of COVID-19, but by adhering to COVID-19 response guidelines, government policies, and event quarantine management guidelines, the expo has established itself as a safe event where visitors can enjoy with peace of mind.”
