NongHyup Central Association announced on the 5th that it held an event at the NongHyup headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, to deliver 6,000 boxes of Jeju tangerines to the Community Chest of Korea. The event was organized to help tangerine farmers struggling with the distribution of open-field tangerines, which are being shipped in earnest from this month, and to support neighbors at social welfare facilities exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. The Jeju tangerines will be delivered to 500 social welfare facilities nationwide, including comprehensive welfare centers, through the Community Chest of Korea.
NongHyup received the '12th Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry·Forbes Social Contribution Award' and the '16th Korea CSR/ESG Management Award' in April and July, respectively. Last month, it was awarded the '22nd Social Welfare Day Presidential Citation.' Having received three external awards this year alone, it is recognized as a leading institution in social contribution.
Especially, marking its 60th anniversary this year, NongHyup plans to do its best to meet its year-end goals by promoting activities such as 'Rural Volunteer Activities with the People,' the '600,000ml Blood Donation Campaign by Employees,' and a 40 billion KRW scholarship fund for talent development. The goals are 900,000 hours of employee volunteer activities (an increase of 20,000 hours from last year) and 350 billion KRW in social contribution investment by the entire NongHyup (an increase of 42.7 billion KRW from last year).
