Gangwon-do to Invest 30.4 Billion KRW in Next Year's Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project
Secured 15.2 Billion KRW National Funding... Solar, Thermal, and Geothermal Energy Distributed to 2,747 Sites in 9 Cities and Counties
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Gangwon Province will invest a total of 30.4 billion KRW (including 15.2 billion KRW in national funds) in next year's renewable energy convergence support project.
On the 5th, the province announced, "We have been selected as a recipient of national funding under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's '2022 Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project.'
The 15.2 billion KRW in national funds secured by Gangwon Province represents an approximately 11% (1.5 billion KRW) increase compared to 13.7 billion KRW this year.
A total of nine cities and counties, including Wonju-si, will form consortia with renewable energy companies to distribute facilities such as solar power (8,823 kW), solar thermal (698㎡), and geothermal (9,122 kW) to a total of 2,747 locations including general residences and public facilities next year.
The renewable energy convergence support project is a government initiative that provides national funding covering up to 50% of the total project cost to expand the distribution of renewable energy by region.

Since 2013, the province has invested a total of 140 billion KRW (61.5 billion KRW in national funds and 78.5 billion KRW in local funds, etc.) in 10,305 locations through this project up to this year.
