In materials distributed in advance of the audit, Minister Noh explained, "Over the past four years, more than 2 million housing units have been supplied, and this year, it is expected that about 460,000 units will be supplied nationwide," adding, "through new types of housing supply methods such as the urban public housing projects announced in the public-led 3080+ plan, and new public housing sites, a supply base for 2.05 million units has also been established."
He continued, "Both public and private projects are implementing pre-sale programs, and short-term housing supply measures are being prepared, making every effort so that the public can feel the effects of housing supply early."
Minister Noh stated that despite successive real estate measures, housing prices continue to soar, and to stabilize housing for the common people, public rental housing will also be expanded.
He said, "We are strengthening customized housing support for demand groups such as youth, newlyweds, and the elderly, and improving the quality of public rental housing by supplying medium-sized rental housing for 3-4 person households."
Regarding the speculation scandal involving employees of Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), he explained, "Strong measures to eradicate speculation and LH innovation plans have been prepared," adding, "the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's innovation plan has also been announced to restore public trust."
Minister Noh emphasized, "We are establishing a foundation for expanding metropolitan transportation infrastructure by formulating a mid- to long-term metropolitan transportation plan and the 4th National Railroad Network Plan," and added, "15 national balanced development projects including roads, railroads, and airports are also being promoted with a sense of urgency."
In particular, he said, "To prevent recurrence of the Gwangju collapse accident, we will strengthen safety in building demolition work and closely ensure that measures to block illegal subcontracting are implemented on site," adding, "disinfection of major transportation facilities is also being carried out thoroughly and without gaps."
He mentioned that efforts will be made to improve services for the highly publicized Seoul Metropolitan Area Express Train (GTX), arterial road development, bus, and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems.
He emphasized, "We will thoroughly implement metropolitan transportation improvement measures for new towns and actively promote transfer center projects at major transportation hubs to provide comfortable and convenient transportation services."
