Police Agency to Host 'International CSI Conference' Online from 20th to 22nd
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The National Police Agency announced on the 4th that it will hold the 'CSI KOREA 2021, International CSI Conference' online for three days from the 20th to the 22nd of this month.
Marking its 7th year, this conference will be held under the theme "Trusted Forensic Science: From the Field to the Court," reflecting on the original value of reliability in the rapidly growing field of forensic science and discussing ways to enhance trust in forensic science from the field to the courtroom.
The conference will review domestic and international forensic science error cases and discuss ways to secure higher reliability through ▲criminal justice system improvement ▲standardization of forensic science ▲statistical basis of forensic science ▲minimizing cognitive bias during criminal investigation and trials.
In particular, Professor Brandon Garrett of Duke University School of Law, a world-renowned scholar who has researched the fundamental causes and improvements of forensic science errors, will deliver the keynote speech at this conference.
