50 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Gangwon During Weekend Holiday
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] During the weekend holiday, 50 new COVID-19 cases were reported in 11 cities and counties in Gangwon Province.
According to the province on the 3rd, the confirmed cases reported the previous day (2nd) were 19 in Wonju, 10 in Chuncheon, 4 in Taebaek, 3 each in Gangneung, Sokcho, Pyeongchang, and Jeongseon, 2 in Cheorwon, and 1 each in Hoengseong, Hongcheon, and Donghae.
In Wonju, infections occurred among high school students, entertainment business owners and employees, foreign workers who used saunas, police officers, and firefighters.
In Chuncheon, a police officer tested positive, and in Taebaek, a medical institution resident was confirmed.
Among the confirmed cases the previous day, 25 were close contacts, 13 were self-isolated, and the remaining 12 visited screening clinics on their own.
