This was a direct attack on the Democratic Party and candidate Lee Jae-myung’s side, who are counterattacking by calling it the ‘People Power Party Gate’ while showing opposition to the introduction of a special prosecutor.
Hong, a preliminary candidate running in the People Power Party presidential primary, pressured the Democratic Party at Chilseong Market in Daegu, saying, "If you are not the main culprit of corruption, there is no need to oppose the special prosecutor."
Regarding the fact that the father of preliminary candidate Yoon Seok-youl sold a house to the sister of Kim Man-bae, the major shareholder of Hwacheon Daeyu Asset Management, Hong pointed out, "It’s a strange real estate transaction."
He targeted ruling party candidate Lee Jae-myung while simultaneously checking rival candidate Yoon within the party primary.
Hong questioned, "Former and current key prosecutors were recruited to Hwacheon Daeyu as so-called shields. But wouldn’t they have reached out to the current Prosecutor General?" He added, "That’s why I asked during the last debate if he had received any reports during his time as Prosecutor General, and immediately a strange transaction surfaced."
Regarding the Democratic Party’s counterattack, Hong said, "The main culprit of the corruption is Lee Jae-myung, who planned and created it, and then Representative Kwak Sang-do got involved, and also one of our party’s presidential candidates is related to a strange real estate transaction, so it is regrettable that it is being portrayed as if it were People Power Party corruption."
He emphasized, "Although Representative Kwak Sang-do has left the party, this is not an issue that ends with his resignation; it must be investigated through a special prosecutor."
Hong stated, "Looking at the current situation, it has moved from the ‘Lee Jae-myung Gate’ to the ‘Legal Gate,’ and further, it could be a leech swarm sucking the blood of the people from both ruling and opposition parties. If I become president, I will arrest everyone regardless of party affiliation. This is an incident that will never be forgiven no matter who is involved."

On the same day, Hong visited Chilseong Market, known as the only place in the country selling dog meat, and said, "We have entered an era where dogs have become companion dogs like children, so I think it is now inappropriate to consume them as food. For livelihood measures, they can switch to other industries."
