Market Kurly "Camping Gear Popular... Up to 25% Discount Until the 14th of Next Month"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Market Kurly announced on the 30th that sales of camping-related products from January to September this year increased by 307% compared to the same period last year.
The camping market is rapidly growing, with the camping population reaching 7 million due to COVID-19 and last year's sales of camping-related goods totaling 4 trillion won. Market Kurly stated, "Last year, when COVID-19 had just begun, sales of camping food were high, whereas this year, the growth trend of camping equipment stood out," adding, "Last year, people starting camping purchased convenient camping meals that were easy and comfortable to eat, but this year, as people embarked on more serious camping, they expanded sales of related products by acquiring equipment."
The products with the highest sales were grills and stoves needed for cooking. Last year, disposable grills that were easy to discard after use accounted for most of the sales, but this year, portable gas grills, ranges, and stoves accounted for more than 70% of total portable heating device sales. Market Kurly analyzed that as more people frequently enjoy camping, they are equipping themselves with cost-effective portable heating devices. Camping lanterns and camping chairs also ranked high in popularity. Market Kurly introduced about 200 new camping-related products this year, including tents, sleeping bags, field beds, tables, and cooking utensils.
Sales of camping meals also increased by 60% compared to the same period last year. Last year, simple meal products that could be enjoyed immediately by just heating, such as back ribs, kielbasa sausages, and Chuncheon dakgalbi, which did not require separate seasoning, showed high sales. This year, sales increased by using meats that are not usually enjoyed, such as tomahawk, a ribeye cut attached to the beef rib bone, and French rack lamb chops, as camping barbecue ingredients. Sales of various skewer products, such as padak skewers and chicken gizzard skewers, increased by 313%, and sales of soup-type products suitable for camping, such as fish cake soup and seafood soup, increased by 156%. The camping potato & sweet potato 1.6kg product, which contains potatoes and sweet potatoes in one box and can be used as a trash bin after use, is also receiving a good response as a camping snack.

They recommended various camping equipment and meals according to camping level (beginner, master), style (food, emotion, rest), and cooking method (ready-made meals, cooking directly) so that customers can choose according to their preferences.
