[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] On the 30th at 3 PM, Busan City will hold an Open Campus Meeting at Pukyong National University Daeyeon Campus to explore cooperation methods among local governments, universities, and companies.
The Open Campus Meeting is a discussion event planned by Mayor Park Hyung-jun, who pledged to establish an ‘Industry-Academia Cooperation Innovation City,’ to directly visit universities and listen to voices from the field.
This is the second meeting held this year, following the one at Dong-Eui Science University in June.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun, Pukyong National University President Jang Young-soo, and other university officials will attend, along with Pukyong National University faculty entrepreneurs such as Woo Sang-wook, CEO of PharmCAD, known for AI drug development based on physics and quantum technology, and Kwon Han-sang, CEO of NGEM, noted for next-generation nano-composite new material manufacturing and licensing.
Also attending are startup students and representatives of resident companies at Pukyong National University Startup Incubation Center, including Choi Eun-kyo, CEO of Itday, a food platform for foreigners residing in Korea, and Kang Yi-rok, CEO of IROCK, a delivery agency business focused on restaurants.
Busan City plans to listen to their startup experiences and difficulties to seek customized support measures. The city intends to actively utilize ideas from the field to strengthen industry-academia cooperation in administration.
Starting in October, Busan City plans to continue listening to voices from the field by visiting about ten universities, including Silla University.
