[Exclusive] Kim In-ho Elected as Chairperson of the Council of Chairpersons of City and Provincial Councils
Chairman Kim Runs in the Election for the President of the Council of Chairpersons of Local Governments of the Republic of Korea on the 29th, Goes to a Runoff Vote, and Ultimately Elected President
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Kim In-ho, Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, was elected as the Chairman of the Korea Council of City and Provincial Council Chairpersons at the meeting held on the 29th at Oak Valley Resort in Wonju, Gangwon Province.
On that day, Kim won the second runoff vote (between the Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council and the Chairman of the Chungbuk Provincial Council) among four candidates including himself, the Chairmen of the Gyeonggi, Busan, and Chungbuk Provincial Councils, and was elected as the Chairman of the Korea Council of City and Provincial Council Chairpersons.
Kim had also challenged last year but failed due to the seniority-based principle and had been serving as an auditor.
However, as the Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, who is regarded as the eldest among metropolitan council chairpersons, Kim ran again for the Chairman of the Korea Council of City and Provincial Council Chairpersons and was ultimately elected as chairman.
