The Digital New Deal exemplary cases have been implemented since 2020 to promote the dissemination of achievements of the Digital New Deal, which is being promoted at the pan-government level. Each month, cases are selected and announced from companies participating in the Digital New Deal projects that have excellent performance and are considered to have high public awareness and ripple effects.
The exemplary cases for September include three outstanding companies that are digitalizing the educational environment by providing customized learning services for elementary, middle, high school, and university levels, supporting continuous lifelong learning for the public, and contributing to making the daily lives of socially vulnerable groups safer.
Ice Cream Edu was highly evaluated for contributing to the activation of smart education by building a large-scale learner achievement level measurement dataset through the ‘Artificial Intelligence Learning Data Construction Project’ and developing learner-customized English learning content in the ‘5th Generation Content Flagship Project.’ In particular, through the ‘K-Non-face-to-face Service Voucher Support Project,’ it has been providing AI-based customized learning services to over 380 elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide and has been recognized for efforts to minimize learning gaps through non-face-to-face education.
Ubion participated in the ‘Cloud Flagship Project’ and the ‘K-Non-face-to-face Service Voucher Support Project,’ providing various cloud-based educational services to 18 educational institutions and more than 120 universities, thereby contributing to the realization of a lifelong learning system for the public. Additionally, through the ‘Learning Management System Leasing Support Project,’ it supports employment and job competency training for trainees at 52 vocational training institutions, taking the lead in supporting non-face-to-face education at group training institutions.
Opasnet plans to establish an emergency response system for 100,000 single elderly households by 2022 through the ‘Emergency Safety Assurance Service Construction Project.’ Furthermore, through the ‘IoT-based Digital Care Pilot Project’ (Ministry of Health and Welfare), it is expected to provide personalized care services to about 300 locations including nursing homes and welfare facilities for the disabled within the year, contributing to minimizing care blind spots.
Park Yoon-kyu, Director of the Information and Communication Policy Office at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, “Traditional education and care sector companies are changing through the Digital New Deal projects,” and added, “The Ministry of Science and ICT will actively work with related ministries to support the utilization and dissemination of innovative non-face-to-face services and ensure that our companies are provided with opportunities for growth and leap forward.”
