Geochang-gun Introduces Unified Pricing System for Public Parking Lots with 'Single Fare System'
Announcement of Amendment to the Ordinance on Parking Lot Installation and Management
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will announce and implement a partially revised Geochang-gun Parking Lot Installation and Management Ordinance starting from the 29th.
This ordinance revision was made due to numerous complaints earlier this year requesting the integration of parking fees, which were previously divided between on-street and off-street parking lots.
The fee system has been changed to 500 KRW for up to 30 minutes, 200 KRW for every additional 10 minutes, and a unified fee system for public parking lots has been introduced with a daily fee of 5,000 KRW and a monthly fee of 50,000 KRW.
Following complaints about fee integration earlier this year, an online survey targeting about 1,000 people was conducted for two weeks from April 28 to May 12, along with offline surveys at town offices and traditional markets.
More than 80% of respondents gave positive feedback regarding the fee changes, and based on the survey results, the ordinance was revised after review by the ordinance and regulation deliberation committee from August to September. It will be announced on the 29th.
