Mokpo National University Museum Hosts Traveling Exhibition of Donated Artifacts 'The Aesthetics of Sharing'

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The Museum of Mokpo National University (President Park Min-seo), directed by Han Jeong-hoon, announced on the 10th that it held a touring exhibition of donated artifacts titled "The Aesthetics of Sharing" on the 9th.
This exhibition was promoted as part of the 2021 National University Development Project to activate the Gwangju-Jeonnam National University Museum Network, jointly planned and operated by the Mokpo National University Museum, Chonnam National University Museum, and Suncheon National University Museum.
The touring exhibition was organized to introduce donated artifacts held by each university museum and to highlight the diverse values and historical significance of these artifacts.
The exhibition is composed of four themes: calligraphy, painting, old documents, and folk items. Featured works include masterpieces such as Gyeomjae Jeong Seon’s "Buljeongdae," Owon Jang Seung-eop’s "Gimyeongjeoljido," Sochi Heo Ryeon’s "Peony Painting," as well as various works reflecting the social scenes of the time like "Jeongjo’s Autograph" and "Gojong’s Autograph." It is expected to be a great opportunity to encounter the lives and artistic worlds of the artists through these diverse works spanning different eras.
Director Han Jeong-hoon stated, "Donated artifacts have been collected and preserved by people who have always kept our cultural heritage close." He added, "Through this exhibition, we hope to honor the affection for donated cultural properties and the noble intentions of the donors, and that the culture of 'The Aesthetics of Sharing,' the purpose of donation, will be established and the donation culture will be revitalized."

The exhibition runs from the 9th of this month to the 8th of next month in the museum’s Nokjeong Room and is free to visit on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
