Yeungnam Polytechnic College Signs 'Industry-Academia Cooperation Agreement' with Ajou Steel
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Yeungnam Institute of Technology signed an 'Industry-Academic Cooperation Agreement' with Ajou Steel, a color steel sheet manufacturer, on the 7th to operate an industry degree program.
This agreement was established to operate the industry degree program through a strategic partnership between the two institutions and to cultivate professional workers equipped with both job knowledge and practical skills.

In 2022, the two institutions plan to open industry-commissioned education courses in the Smart Convergence Machinery Department and the Electrical Automation Department, focusing on customized talent development that enables practical work immediately upon graduation, from education reflecting industry demand to field training and employment.
Ajou Steel is a material development company producing color steel sheets for IT and home appliances, holding 60% of the global LCD TV steel sheet market. It is the first domestic reshoring (policy of returning overseas factories to Korea) company and an outstanding company in the related field certified with T2 technology (steel material manufacturing technology utilizing surface treatment technology).
Lee Jae-yong, President of Yeungnam Institute of Technology, said, “We will continuously strive to ensure that this agreement leads to the cultivation of industry-tailored human resources,” and added, “We will do our best to strengthen the employment competitiveness of enrolled students and cultivate professional workers equipped with practical skills through specialized vocational education courses needed by industries.”

Meanwhile, in the 2022 academic year early admission, Yeungnam Institute of Technology selected 2,071 freshmen, about 94.4% of the total recruitment quota, and the first successful candidates receive a 50% tuition scholarship, while additional successful candidates receive a scholarship of 1 million KRW.
