Gangneung City Participates in 'World Smart City Expo'... Introducing the 'Gangneung Model'
Introduction to Smart City Challenge Projects and Key Solutions
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangneung City announced on the 8th that it will participate in the Asia-Pacific region's largest smart city international event, "The 5th World Smart City Expo (WSCE 2021)," hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Science and ICT.
The World Smart City Expo, held for the fifth time this year, will take place from today until the 10th at KINTEX in Goyang, under the theme "Smart City, Becoming Reality."
The city operates an exhibition and promotion hall with seven companies, including Huikgo Co., Ltd., the lead company of the "2021 Gangneung Smart City Challenge" consortium, introducing the Smart City Challenge project and key solutions under the theme "Connecting Travelers, Citizens; Gangneung."
Additionally, the content is designed to allow indirect experience of MaaS platforms, tourism marketing platforms, and urban data hub platform services.
To address inefficient urban issues by integrating smart technology and aiming to guarantee mobility rights at the level of large cities, a wireless charging solution for the integrated transportation transfer platform and electric kickboards will also be exhibited.
Meanwhile, the city was selected as the recipient of the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Plaque of Appreciation in recognition of its contribution to the successful hosting of this event.
