Kyungbok University Selected as 'General Financial Support University'... Expecting Financial Support Over 10 Billion Won
[Asia Economy (Namyangju) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeongbok University has been selected as a 'General Financial Support University' by the Ministry of Education.
The University Basic Competency Diagnosis is an evaluation conducted every three years to assess elements that higher education institutions must have, such as development plan achievements, educational conditions, academic management, student support, and educational outcomes, aimed at normalizing university education and reducing university quotas due to population decline.
On the 3rd, the Ministry of Education selected 97 top universities, including Gyeongbok University, out of 124 specialized colleges subject to the University Basic Competency Diagnosis as General Financial Support Universities.
Following this selection, Gyeongbok University will receive financial support of over 10 billion KRW for innovation support projects along with autonomous quota adjustment operations for three years starting from 2022.
Kim Gyeongbok, Acting President of Gyeongbok University, stated, "Gyeongbok University has achieved the highest employment rate among metropolitan universities for four consecutive years, and with this selection as a General Financial Support University, our educational capabilities, including student-centered educational innovation and employment innovation through 100% employment-guaranteed industry-academia cooperation, have been recognized both domestically and internationally. We will focus our university capabilities on improving the educational environment befitting the status of a top specialized university at home and abroad."

Based on this selection as a General Financial Support University, Gyeongbok University plans to actively foster creative convergence talents equipped with innovation, creativity, entrepreneurial capabilities leading the 4th Industrial Revolution, and future-oriented insights to achieve the Vision 2025 goal of 'Training Champions for the Future.'
