Uijeongbu-si Provides Local Currency as '100,000 Won Enlistment Support Fund'
Uijeongbu Citizens Scheduled to Enlist as Active Duty Soldiers or Social Service Agents with Resident Registration for Over One Year
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province will provide enlistment support funds of 100,000 KRW per person in local currency to young people enlisting in the military.
The city announced on the 7th, "To encourage young people fulfilling their military service obligations, we have established the 'Uijeongbu City Enlistment Support Fund Payment Ordinance' and will begin accepting applications from September 9."
The recipients are Uijeongbu citizens who have been registered residents of Uijeongbu for more than one year as of the application date and who have received an active duty or social service agent enlistment (mobilization) notice and are scheduled to enlist (mobilize).
Applicants must bring their ID and enlistment (mobilization) notice to the administrative welfare center of their residential district by the day before enlistment to apply.
