View original imageLotte Shopping is pursuing change and innovation once again by unveiling the premium outlet ‘Time Villas’ on the 10th (with a pre-open on the 8th), following last month’s opening of the Dongtan department store. The focus was on creating an open space harmonized with nature, where customers can experience diverse shopping and value that cannot be felt online. On the afternoon of the 3rd, we visited Lotte Premium Outlet Time Villas in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, where final construction work is underway ahead of the opening.
Outlet Blended with Nature
Time Villas is surrounded by the foothills of Barasan Mountain to the east and Baegun Lake to the west. As the store name suggests, it boasts a landscape where even time seems to take a break. Upon entering the outlet entrance, autumn sunlight pours down beneath a 30-meter-high transparent circular dome. Vines climb skyward along long wires stretching from the ceiling to the floor. In the middle of the plaza, a Kia ‘EV6’ exhibition hall is being prepared. Around 240 brand stores, including Nike, are displaying products and busily preparing to welcome customers.
The outdoor space connected behind the outlet is decorated with an exotic landscape not seen in typical suburban outlets. The ‘Glassville,’ consisting of 10 ‘Glass House’ buildings on approximately 9,300㎡ of green space, looks like glass boxes gently covering the forest. Instead of prioritizing space efficiency, the focus was on delighting customers’ eyes and palates.
At The Station, the welcome plaza you encounter first upon arriving at Time Villas, you can enjoy cozy natural lighting through a 30-meter-high glass dome ceiling.

At ‘Podium Coffee,’ a caf? operated by a robotic system that roasts coffee beans and extracts coffee, visitors can watch the entire coffee-making process firsthand. At the ‘Simmons’ store’s hotel-style showroom, customers can lie down on mattresses to find the most comfortable bed for themselves. The bakery caf? ‘Lala Flore’ decorated with a magnificent chandelier offers photogenic spots perfect for SNS posts from any angle. The ‘PXG’ store, which introduced the country’s first indoor putting bay, allows customers to try clubs directly. At the ‘Detrone Lounge,’ children and parents can enjoy an electric car tour along the outdoor walking trail together.
The ‘Glow-in-the-Dark Skate Bowl Park’ installed by world-renowned artist Gu Jung-ah in front of the main entrance is also unique. This experiential sculpture for skateboarding, created by artist Gu, has been introduced at Time Villas for the first time in Korea, following France, Australia, Brazil, Italy, and Denmark.
To minimize the inconvenience of suburban outlets heavily affected by weather such as rain or heatwaves, Time Villas has installed a ‘retractable ceiling’ and ‘folding doors.’ Additionally, there is a dining zone where visitors can enjoy meals while watching the sunset over Baegun Lake, and a ‘Rooftop Picnic Plaza’ where guests can enjoy picnics on the lawn.
The sculpture located in front of the main gate of Time Villas, which also serves as a space where customers can enjoy skateboarding, is the 'Skate Bowl Park.' It features a phosphorescent material applied at depths ranging from 0.3 to 2 meters, creating a unique atmosphere at night.

Its greatest advantage is its proximity?just 30 minutes by car from Seoul’s Gangnam or Jamsil areas, and within 20 minutes from Sadang, Bundang, Pangyo, Anyang, and Suwon. Given that 1.7 million people live within a 10 km radius and 5.26 million within 20 km, it is the largest commercial district in the metropolitan area, and Lotte expects it to attract customers of all generations and diverse tastes.
Hwang Beom-seok, CEO of Lotte Shopping’s Department Store Division, said, “From naming to design, Time Villas is differentiated from existing outlets. We will strive to transform it into the representative complex cultural space in the southern Gyeonggi region where customers can relax and enjoy themselves in nature beyond simple shopping.”
