40s Man Kills Wife with Knife in Front of Father-in-Law During Divorce Dispute
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 40s who stabbed and killed his wife, from whom he was separated while undergoing a divorce lawsuit, has been arrested by the police.
The Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 4th that they have arrested and are investigating Mr. A (49) on suspicion of murder.
According to the police, Mr. A is suspected of stabbing and killing his wife with a weapon at their home in Hwagok-dong, Gangseo-gu, around 2 p.m. on the 3rd, the previous day.
The victim, who had been living separately from Mr. A since May and was engaged in a divorce lawsuit, visited Mr. A's house with her father to retrieve her belongings, leading to an argument over the divorce issue.
When the victim asked her father to record the argument, Mr. A, enraged by this, wielded a 1-meter-long sword kept in the house and killed his wife. Fortunately, the victim's father was unharmed.
