Kim Byung-min, spokesperson for Yoon's national campaign, released a statement saying, "The internet media Newsbus's report that the 'Yoon Seok-yeol prosecution' ordered the then opposition party, the United Future Party, to file criminal complaints against ruling party politicians ahead of last year's general election is clearly false and fabricated," adding, "It is a conspiracy and political maneuver aimed at tarnishing Yoon Seok-yeol ahead of the People Power Party presidential primary."
Spokesperson Kim continued, "Both Son Jun-sung, then the Chief of the Investigation and Information Policy Office at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, and Kim Woong, a People Power Party lawmaker mentioned by Newsbus in relation to the complaint order, have denied the report, and no actual complaint was ever filed," explaining, "We believe there is a hidden agenda behind Newsbus's report that made it appear as if former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol was directly involved using an unclear complaint document." He added, "Since the Democratic Party of Korea immediately used Newsbus's report to launch a political attack against candidate Yoon, the hidden forces behind this must be revealed."
