Jeon Sehun, Jeonbuk Provincial Assembly Member, Urges Establishment of Jeonju Family Court and Wanju County Court
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonbuk Provincial Council member Doo Se-hun (Wanju 2·Democratic Party) officially proposed the "Resolution to Urge the Establishment of Jeonju Family Court and Wanju County Court" on the 2nd.
Member Doo stated, "Jeollabuk-do does not have a family court. From 2010 to 2019, the Jeonju District Court handled 17,329 family litigation cases and 26,955 family non-litigation cases, which clearly demonstrates the necessity of establishing a family court."
He also emphasized, "Although the Wanju County Office moved to Wanju County in 2012, nine years have passed, yet it remains the only one among the 14 cities and counties in the province without a county court. As a result, Wanju residents suffer from temporal and economic inequalities. We must establish the Wanju County Court to provide specialized and equal judicial services."
Meanwhile, National Assembly member Ahn Ho-young (Wanju, Jinan, Muju, Jangsu) has previously introduced a bill containing the legal basis for establishing the Jeonju Family Court and Wanju County Court. Additionally, the Jeonbuk Bar Association (President Lawyer Hong Yosep) has formed the Jeonju Family Court Establishment Promotion Committee (Chairman Lawyer Lee Jong-gi) and is actively engaged in efforts to establish the Jeonju Family Court.
