Wanju-gun to Distribute Public Interest Allowance to Farmers and Fishermen Before Chuseok
[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Wanju County announced on the 2nd that it will pay a total of 5.6 billion KRW in public interest subsidies to farmers and fishermen, 600,000 KRW per household, before Chuseok.
The public interest subsidy for farmers and fishermen, introduced for the first time last year, has been expanded this year to include beekeeping farms and fishing households.
The public interest subsidy for farmers and fishermen will be paid entirely in Wanju Love Gift Certificates.
The recipients are 9,370 farming and fishing households within the jurisdiction.
Park Seong-il, the mayor of Wanju County, said, “We thank the farmers and fishermen who silently protect rural areas despite the aging agricultural population and difficult conditions,” and added, “We will strive to expand the public value of agriculture and ensure sustainable agriculture and rural communities.”
