Daejeon City Special Judicial Police Crack Down on Pharmacies Violating the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act and Send Cases for Prosecution
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Daejeon Special Judicial Police announced on the 1st that they recently conducted a planned investigation to eradicate illegal sales activities violating the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act and caught four violating businesses.
These businesses were caught for selling pharmaceuticals and providing medication guidance without a pharmacist license (1 place), and for storing and displaying expired pharmaceuticals in pharmacy dispensing rooms for the purpose of sale (3 places), and are expected to be referred to the prosecution.
Under current law, unlicensed sale and dispensing of pharmaceuticals can be punished with up to 5 years imprisonment or a fine of up to 50 million KRW under the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, and storing or displaying expired pharmaceuticals can result in up to 1 year imprisonment or a fine of up to 10 million KRW.
