[Jindo=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jindo County, Jeollanam-do, is accepting recommendation letters for candidates for the ‘Jindo County Residents’ Award’ until the 30th of next month in celebration of Jindo County Residents’ Day, which will be held on November 1.
According to the county on the 30th, the award targets residents who have contributed to the development of the local community and the promotion of welfare, across five categories.
The Residents’ Award will select one recipient in each category: public welfare, education and sports, tourism and cultural arts, welfare and environment, and regional development.
The awardees will be finalized through a strict investigation of their public achievements in October, followed by a meeting of the ‘Residents’ Award Deliberation Committee,’ and will be presented at the ‘46th Jindo County Residents’ Day’ ceremony.
Recommendations for candidates for the Residents’ Award can be made by heads of towns and townships, as well as heads of institutions and organizations. Individuals may also recommend candidates if they collect signatures from more than 30 people.
Recommendation documents can be obtained from the town and township offices or downloaded from the announcement section on the Jindo County website, and must be submitted with supporting documents to the Jindo County Administration Division.
